Have More Friends

When we first launched the private blog feature we limited it to 5 folks per blog while we could work out the details and the bugs.

A lot of people let us know they wanted more, and many said they’d pay for a few more users on their blog.

Well, now we’ve decided to make it so you can have up to thirty-five members on a blog absolutely free.

For people who want more than 35 members on a private blog, we’re probably going to make that a paid upgrade.

But for now, invite 35 of your closest friends to your secret or members-only blog, and talk about all those things you couldn’t on your public blog. :)

    I am really excited by this development. Now make it easier for Julia and I to invite our friends to WordPress and subscribe to her blog by email ;-)

    good, this thing seems to be improving. i was always afraid that blogger might become a lot better within sometime, but it’s nice to see wordpress too implementing new features

    Sounds like a great choice for a pay feature.

    I like the model of keep what’s good for 95% of the users free, and make some money off of the people who want that last 5%.

    Spookily, 35 is the exact number of friends I have on lj. Not that I’m planning on moving, but it’s a nice, manageable number.

    I dunno, cool I guess…I mean everybody says its cool and it sounds pretty cool. But I wonder if people will just clamor for bigger groups for private postings and the public blog will but wither away eventually. Nah, my catastrophism is misplaced I think. Nice addition WordPress, now if I can only convince my friends to read my blog instead of watching bad television…
