New Theme: ChaoticSoul
This post happens to be a little special, since this theme happens to be a bit close to my heart.
I’m (very) proud to present you ChaoticSoul, a dark 2-columned theme that is based off of one a past version of the same name for my website/blog, Avalonstar (version 12 to be exact). My reasoning behind making this a theme is pretty simple – I didn’t want it to be lost in time and eventually by the Wayback Machine, so what better way to pay homage than to convert it into a WordPress theme. Obviously, I’ve gotten it to work with widgets as well as custom headers.

It’s hopefully a welcome change from the constant black on white I’ve been throwing at you for the past few weeks. I hope you can all help to keep its memory alive.

Is it possible to remove the ‘written with love…’ bit?
That is totally: STUPID. It doesn’t fit with my theme at all.
PLEASE REMOVE THIS OR MAKE IT OPTIONAL!!!!!!!!!

Well, three women have agreed with me on my page that it isn’t really suitable to have “Written with love…” One of them did say she was glad it doesn’t say something like that on the comments too. Although now you come to mention it…lol.
I mean, I wouldn’t be bothered if it said something like “Oooh, written with sweeet lurv baby” as that’s sort of funny and would make people laugh.

if you people have so many problems with themes, why not just shell out the $$ like I did so you can edit each theme to your own desire? I did, and I don’t mind being able to customize to my own delight.

i agree with making the “written with love” an option, it doesn’t suit my blog nor my personality
i may have to switch to another theme if i can’t change it and that would be too bad as it’s my favorite theme.

I can’t see where the issue regarding ‘other pages’ has been resolved. Can anyone tell me, please, if I’m just missing the plot totally? I still can’t access my other pages using this theme.
Thanks!

Yeah, the “Written with love” is troubling for me too.

You changed it! Phew! Very grateful. It’s a superb theme and thanks for listening to our feedback.

it would be verry nice indeed to make it adjustable, like a signature or something.
At the moment it is for me a bit funny, but I hope it will change since I am writing in my native language and such a line doesn’t always fit with the content.

tiny request– when you view past posts (eg. by clicking on the “previous” tag), can it not display your latest post at the top?

And in answer to Daijinryuu, I have neither the knowledge nor experience to do something like that. I tried it myself once and it was rather disastrous.

I applied this theme to my blog but bulleted lists only show up in the preview…once the post is published they don’t show up.

I would also pont out one additional bug:
The posting title, when it is are more than one line long, overlaps, with the top of the second line. The top of the second line overlaps the bottom of th first line. Not Good.
Please
thanks…

Hi Bryan,
Thank you so much for Chaotic Soul, it really rocks.
I really liked the look and feel of Chaotic Soul, but I wanted three columns. After a while, I got up the guts and went to the three column sandbox theme and tweaked it to resemble Chaotic Soul.
Then I did a bit more color tweaking to suit my taste and make things like links and blockquotes stand out a little better, found a way to add a custom header image, added a little graphic siggy at the bottom of each post, and various other little things. (There was a problem with overlapping columns in narrow browser settings, for instance.)
If you want to turn it into a three column Chaotic Soul variant theme unto itself, please feel free. I’d appreciate a nod and a link to my blog, though, if that’s ok.
The CSS is probably a bit messy, as I’m kind of a “cut and paste” and “trial and error” type of girl. I know just enough about CSS to be dangerous, I think!
(Now if I could just figure out how to put the avatars back in, I’d be the happiest girl in the fictional universe…)
Kisses,
JanieBelle
