February Wrap-Up
February was a good month for us, production-wise. We brought you a new theme, a new and improved LiveJournal import tool, and threaded comments. Elsewhere, Automattic launched BuddyPress, a set of WordPress MU plugins that transforms a WordPress MU install into a social network platform. We also launched the I <3 Blogging design contest, in partnership with Infectious (which ends on March 30).
Here are the stats from February:
- 351,904 blogs were created.
- 385,033 new users joined.
- 4,577,845 file uploads.
- 2,926 gigabytes of new files.
- 776 terabytes of content transferred from our datacenters.
- 7,964,018 comments.
- 6,436,398 logins.
- 1,022,236,821 pageviews on WordPress.com, and another 948,586,171 on self-hosted blogs (1,970,822,992 total across all WordPress blogs we track).
- 1,039,553 active blogs and 19,015,974 active posts where “active” means they got a human visitor.
- 1,348,400,618 words.
More stuff:
You subscribed to 641,150 comment threads, using our new comment subscription feature.
There was a whopping seven WordCamps in February: WordCamp Higher Ed North East, WordCamp Paris, WordCamp Germany, WordCamp Miami, WordCamp India, WordCamp Education Vancouver, WordCamp Denver. (The next WordCamp is WordCamp Hong Kong, on April 5.)
Indie video game development studio, Platinum Games, joined WordPress.com VIP.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution switched to WordPress MU.
Singularity University went live, powered by WordPress.

Great Job!!!!
But we all Need to add ads to our Blogs without paying anything, & we should be able to use some java script!!!!
Seriously speaking WordPress is quite good, But it doesnt have feature to add ads which is easily available in blogger.
I hope this feature will Come

I have heard from some friends that google adsense feature is about to launch
by wordpress

So you are the face for WordPress? I am not really a computer person but I am a library person with access. It is difficult to understand all the great details of development with this blogsite when I am a perpetual beginner. I can tell you though that I am thoroughly enjoying myself figuring things out here so if that can translate to huge kudos for your great efforts that would at least satisfy me:^D

I’ve just switched over from Blogger to WP and I love everything about WP! It’s so organized and clutter free. But one sad thing for me is that I can’t have any ads here. Not even a text ad..I really wish you could have the ad upgrade very very very soon! Some bloggers may not want to have ads in their blogs because they might find them irrelevant. But I do appreciate having ads especially those from the blog advertising networks like Nuffnang because its really fun! I really really wish you guys would have the ad upgrade soon.
Anyway, thanks for the great job at wordpress.com. I know that you guys are hard at work keeping all our blogs up and running. Love you all! Thanks again!
