New Theme: Skeptical
Today we’re pleased to introduce the latest addition to our themes, Skeptical. Originally released by WooThemes for self-hosted WordPress.org blogs, Skeptical has seen great popularity as a blog theme. Now, it is available on WordPress.com.
The WordPress.com version is designed with Post Formats in mind. Skeptical supports nine post formats – standard, quote, aside, image, gallery, chat, audio, link, and video. Just by looking at the screenshot above, however, you can’t see all of the ingredients that make this theme sizzle. Now would be a good time to read all about Skeptical’s features on the Theme Showcase.

Beautiful. Couldn’t believe it’s free.
August 23rd, 2011 at 6:20 pm
Nice and clear theme! Light colours make it comfortable to read.

Easily readable font, block quotes are nicely accented, wide photos are shrunk properly, lots of customization options! The main column width is quite narrow when using the three column format.

I think this is a stunning theme!!
August 23rd, 2011 at 8:11 pm
it’s very nice! but the tagline is so small it’s virtually unreadable. I would say crank both the page title and tagline up a couple points
August 23rd, 2011 at 8:23 pm
I think it’s the best colour theme.
August 23rd, 2011 at 8:44 pm

Cool theme. Love the colour schemes! It’s good to bring out white themes! Hope you make more themes like this and “vigilance”!

August 24th, 2011 at 6:06 am
Nice one! Clean and elegant.
August 24th, 2011 at 6:34 am
I’ve been looking for a theme to replace my much-loved Vigilance, just for a change. Skeptical has all the elements and options that I want in a new theme. I was surprised to discover that it is free. But, alas, the column width is too narrow. A lot of space is wasted on the first column whose sole purpose is to present the post title, date and number of comments. Also, tags can only be seen in a full page view of a post. But thank you, it’s still a very nice looking and functional theme.
August 24th, 2011 at 6:35 am
Oh gosh, that’s really pretty!
August 24th, 2011 at 7:38 am
Wow this is a very neat theme!
It’s cool to the eyes.!!
August 24th, 2011 at 8:00 am

August 24th, 2011 at 9:17 am

August 24th, 2011 at 10:01 am
Thanks WordPress! I’ve wanted this theme for so long!
August 24th, 2011 at 10:34 am
Nice and clear theme! Light colours make it comfortable to read.
August 24th, 2011 at 10:36 am
Too good to be free!
August 24th, 2011 at 11:11 am
Great theme – even gets nested lists correct, though it hides the text before the more tag in the actual post. A love/hate thing there. Would be great as a customization option (unless there is already is one).
August 24th, 2011 at 12:27 pm
There was a glitch on more tag but it’s been resolved now. I hope you now only love the theme
August 24th, 2011 at 12:05 pm
WooThemes are generally great. I just started a new second blog last week using their The Morning After theme; frankly I was surprised it was free. Skeptical appears to be following that tradition, and is tempting me to switch, but on balance I think Morning After still suits that particular blog’s needs better. But still, very impressed by the flexibility of all the different post formats.
August 24th, 2011 at 12:26 pm
I really like this theme and I will try it, that’s for sure
Keep up the good work
August 24th, 2011 at 12:43 pm
Hey Theme Team!
I just love it when you guys work with WooThemes to come up with amazing blog templates for WordPress.com bloggers. Here’s to hoping you would release more magazine-style themes . . . FREE!!
Thanks very much!
Cheers!
August 24th, 2011 at 1:25 pm
Awesome when I know that free !! Thankssss…
August 24th, 2011 at 1:58 pm
I am totally psyched about this theme! I’m already playing around with it to see what it can do.
August 24th, 2011 at 3:23 pm
Ooooh, I like this one a lot! If I can figure out how to convert my blog to it, without losing any of my current widgets, I’ll give this one a try.
August 24th, 2011 at 5:40 pm
Clean, simple and very cool-looking. Nice features, too. Thanks!
August 24th, 2011 at 7:28 pm

August 25th, 2011 at 5:55 am
Is there a way to change the fonts used in this theme without spending a dime?
Frankly, I feel the the fonts on it don’t belong there.
August 25th, 2011 at 11:54 am
I’m afraid you need Custom Design upgrade to change the fonts on Skeptical.
August 25th, 2011 at 7:20 am
I think, I’m a bit skeptical about Skeptical.
But it’s so simplistic I kinda like it.
August 25th, 2011 at 7:31 am

I love, love, LOVE this theme. Please update so that the HTML links are clearly visible – the black and grey are nearly indistinguishable at the moment!

A really lovely, clean, bright theme (the best yet). I agree with the last poster: please update the links, they are hardly visible at all. Thanks!
