Did you see a renewal notice in your dashboard?

Just over a year ago we started offering premium upgrades on the blogs here as annual subscriptions. Unfortunately, the time is fast approaching when those early subscriptions are going to expire.

There’s no need to worry yet. You’ll be given a month’s notice that your upgrade is about to expire. When you login to your blog a message will be displayed at the top of every Dashboard page urging you to visit the Upgrades page and renew.

If you were one of the early subscribers to the Custom CSS upgrade last year, that message will read,

“Your subscription to Custom CSS is about to run out! Visit the Upgrades page to renew it.”

We’ve added a new renewals section to the Upgrades page to make this as painless as possible. Simply click the “Renew for another year” button. If you have the credits in your account you’ll be asked to confirm, otherwise, it’s off to Paypal where you can pay for the renewal.

Don’t worry that renewing early will affect next year’s renewal. Your renewal date will fall on the same date as your subscription date, no matter how many days before the expiry date you renew.

On the other hand, if you don’t want to renew and the reminder notice is getting on your nerves, click the “Hide renewal message” and it will go away.

i’m thinking that you guys should give people the “renew” option at all times. for instance, i won’t need to renew my Custom CSS until September 8th of this year, but what if i know i’ll be out of town and away from the computer around that time and need to renew it NOW.

also, consider the possibility of allowing people to subscribe for more than 1 year at a time. i know that i LOVE the Custom CSS and would gladly pay for another 2 years RIGHT NOW if i could.

    just a thought.

oh, and by the way, i love wordpress.com. it makes everything about blogging just that much easier.

Oh. I wish I had upgraded something. Then I could be greeted with a lovely upgrade notice. I feel left out.

    CSS editing FTW!

Although I don’t have it, I always thought the CustomCSS upgrade was a once off payment not a yearly one.

Ya. I Noticed it. I went to my blog this morning and I didn’t see the sidebar. So I kept scrolling down and I found it. I liked it better the way it was before but I like this one too.

Sure wish I had income, or friends with an excess of income. That way I could join the party. Definately a good idea to have the warning though.
